日経平均は302円安と続落、プライム値下がり銘柄数は7割に=9日前場

The Nikkei average fell by 302 yen, continuing its decline, with 70% of Main Board stocks decreasing in value = 9 days ago.

Nine days ago, the Nikkei Average fell by 302.13 yen to 39,678.93 yen, while the TOPIX (Tokyo Stock Price Index) dropped by 21.30 points to 2,748.70 points, both continuing a downward trend. With few clues available, the US stock market was closed on the 9th due to the passing of former President Carter, leading to selling pressure from the morning. As US index futures declined in extended hours trading, the Nikkei Average reached 39,607.06 yen, down 374.00 yen, at 10:25 AM. It continued to fluctuate in the lower range.

The volume on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Main Board was 913.69 million shares, with a trading value of 2.966 trillion yen. Of the stocks traded, 431 increased in value while 1,158 decreased, reaching 70%. There were 54 stocks unchanged.

By global sectors, out of the 33 sectors, 29 sectors declined while 4 sectors rose. Shares in marine shipping, such as NYK Line <9101.T> and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines <9104.T>, as well as transportation equipment stocks like DENSO <6902.T> and Toyota <7203.T> fell. Wholesale stocks like Itochu <8001.T> and Marubeni <8002.T>, along with precision instrument stocks like Olympus <7733.T> and HOYA <7741.T>, also declined. Mining stocks such as INPEX <1605.T> and Petroleum Resources <1662.T> and iron & steel stocks like Nippon Steel <5401.T> and JFE Holdings <5411.T> were weak. Additionally, insurance stocks like Dai-ichi Life Holdings <8750.T> and Tokio Marine <8766.T>, as well as electricity & gas stocks such as Chubu Electric <9502.T> and Kansai Electric <9503.T>, also struggled. On the other hand, stocks in other products like TOPPAN <7911.T> and NINTENDO CO LTD <7974.T>, along with pharmaceutical stocks such as Astellas Pharma <4503.T> and Chugai Pharmaceutical <4519.T>, rose.

Individually, KLab <3656.T>, Money <7730.T>, F Stars <3687.T>, Saizeriya <7581.T>, and Migaro HD <5535.T> saw declines. Conversely, Nextage <3186.T>, Tamura Manufacturing <6768.T>, Honey's HD <2792.T>, World <3612.T>, and T&G Needs <4331.T> experienced increases.
