According to preliminary tracking data from the International Data Corporation (IDC), in the fourth quarter of 2024, Global personal computer (PC) shipments grew by 1.8% year-on-year, reaching 68.9 million units. For the entire year, shipments totaled 0.2627 billion units, an increase of 1% year-on-year. Among the top five companies, Lenovo (00992) once again ranked first, achieving a record high market share of 24.5% in the fourth quarter.
Jitesh Ubrani, the research manager for IDC's Global Mobile Device Tracking, stated that despite the market experiencing a slow growth recovery, in the fourth quarter, the performance of the Consumer Sector exceeded expectations due to subsidies from the Chinese government, bringing optimism. Furthermore, the USA and some European countries also showed strong performance due to year-end sales promotions and businesses continuing to upgrade Hardware before the end of support for Windows 10 in October 2025.
