The Dutch government and Nvidia have partnered to advance the construction of a possible artificial intelligence (AI) facility to provide the facility with the necessary hardware and technical knowledge.
The Zhitong Finance App learned that the Dutch government announced a cooperation with Nvidia (NVDA.US) on Thursday to advance the construction of a possible artificial intelligence (AI) facility and provide the necessary hardware and technical knowledge for the facility. As part of the EU's promotion of Europe's digital economy, the Netherlands plans to build a new facility that will allow AI “supercomputers” to participate in research and development.
According to information, the Dutch government allocated 0.2045 billion euros (0.21 billion US dollars) of investment last year, and there are plans to use European subsidy funds to further support this project.
Economy Secretary Dirk Belljats said after meeting with Nvidia that the agreement with Nvidia had significantly improved the chances of the project being successfully realized, but he did not disclose further details of the cooperation.
He emphasized, “Competition is extremely intense, and the world is scrambling to acquire this technology. However, this deal certainly brings us one step closer to our goal of building an artificial intelligence facility in the Netherlands.”
