Sojitz <2768.T> announced on the 9th that it has underwritten part of the third-party allotment capital increase conducted by Hycamite TCD Technologies in Finland.
The funds raised this time will be allocated to the operation and demonstration tests of the manufacturing demonstration facility (commercial-scale plant) completed in the Kokkolan industrial park in western Finland. This commercial-scale plant plans to produce 2,000 tons of turquoise hydrogen annually (approximately 2,880 Nm³/h), making it one of the largest in Europe (according to Hycamite). The goal is to start operations in early 2025. With this capital increase subscription, Sojitz has become the largest Shareholder of Hycamite.
Turquoise hydrogen is a type of hydrogen produced by the thermal decomposition of methane (CH₄), which is the main component of Natural Gas.
The closing price on the 9th was 3,136 yen, a decrease of 55 yen from the previous day.
