(Binance), the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, temporarily banned the withdrawal of Ethernet coins because of network congestion, while Coinbase said it was investigating "intermittent interruptions" on its platform.

The disruption to the two platforms comes at a time when the cryptocurrency is plummeting. Bitcoin tumbled nearly 30 per cent to $31000, wiping out more than $500 billion from its peak.
Coinbase said its website, mobile apps and API had suffered partial disruptions.
