Singapore shares opened higher on Thursday despite muted trading on Wall Street, as investors await key US jobs data due this week.

$FTSE Singapore Straits Time Index(.STI.SG)$ rose 0.3 per cent or 10.92 points to 3,171.96 as at 9.01am.

Gainers outnumbered losers 94 to 39, after 97 million securities worth S$53.4 million changed hands.

$CFM(5EB.SG)$ was among the most actively traded counters by volume on Thursday morning, with 10.9 million shares changing hands as at 9.02 am. The counter rose 0.8 Singapore cent or 12.1 per cent to 7.4 cents.

Sembcorp prices S$400m green bonds due 2031 at 2.45%

$Sembcorp Ind(U96.SG)$ has priced its inaugural S$400 million green bond offering through its wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Financial Services (SFS).

Due 2031, the bonds will be issued on June 9, 2021 at a coupon rate of 2.45 per cent per annum, payable semi-annual in arrears and comprising Series 001 notes under the S$3 billion multicurrency debt issuance programme established by Sembcorp and SFS.

Payment obligations of SFS under the green bonds, which are expected to be listed on the Singapore Exchange, will be guaranteed by Sembcorp.

UMS's offer for JEP closes with 71.66% valid acceptances

$UMS(558.SG)$' offer for Catalist-listed $JEP(1J4.SG)$ has closed with valid acceptances representing 71.66 per cent of the total number of JEP's shares, announced UMS in a filing on Thursday morning.

The mandatory unconditional cash offer, with a final offer price of S$0.20 per share, closed at 5.30pm on June 2.

Stocks to watch

$Mapletree Ind Tr(ME8U.SG)$: Its manager on Thursday morning said that its preferential offering will open on June 3 at 9 am. It had earlier announced the issuance of 307,835,607 new units by way of a private placement and a non-renounceable preferential offering at an issue price of S$2.640 per new unit. The preferential offering will close on June 11. Units of MIT closed at S$2.77 on Wednesday, down S$0.01 or 0.4 per cent.

$FRASERS LOGISTICS & COM TRUST(BUOU.SG)$: 240 million new units of the trust will be issued on Thursday at an issue price of S$1.399 per new unit, in connection with the previously announced private placement, said its manager on Thursday morning. The total number of units of FLCT in issue will be 3,668,683,921 units as at Thursday. Other than the distribution prior to the issuance of the new units, the new units issued pursuant to the private placement will, upon issue, rank pari passu in all respects with the units in issue immediately prior. The new units will be listed and quoted on the SGX-ST mainboard at 9am on Thursday. Units of FLCT closed at S$1.42 on Wednesday, up S$0.01 or 0.7 per cent.

$CFM(5EB.SG)$: The group announced on Thursday morning that it has entered into a sale and purchase agreement to acquire 51 ordinary shares representing 51 per cent of the total issued ordinary share capital of SING-SWE MM Biotechnology from vendors Wang Xinmeng, Gao Hong and New Energy Industry Sweden AB. This will be for an aggregate consideration of up to S$6.1 million. In connection with the proposed acquisition, CFM intends to diversify its business. CFM shares last traded on May 28 at 6.6 Singapore cents.

$Sabana Reit(M1GU.SG)$: The Reit on Wednesday appointed Singapore-based hedge fund founder Chan Wai Kheong as an independent non-executive director of the company, subject to independent unitholders' approval. Mr Chan has also been appointed a member of Sabana Reit's audit and risk committee as well as a member of the nominating and remuneration committee, said the company in a bourse filing. Units of Sabana Reit closed 0.5 Singapore cent or 1.2 per cent higher at 42 cents on Wednesday.
