马来西亚疫情影响再扩大,安森美(ON.US)、旺诠全面停工

The impact of the epidemic in Malaysia has expanded, and on Semei (ON.US) and Wanglu have been completely shut down.

On 8 July, as the number of confirmed cases in Malaysia remained high, the local government announced that 60% of employees from all enterprises in Sinai Industrial Zone would be allowed to enter the factory and suspend operations completely, from 00:00 on 9 July to 23:59 on 22 July for two weeks.

Camry, a large manufacturer of passive components, announced today that it had received an order from the government that Wangli Malaysia, a subsidiary of Camry, was affected by the shutdown and was expected to stop work on its evening shift today.

As we all know, Malaysia is one of the most important production bases in the world, and more than 50 semiconductor companies have set up factories there. The global market share of closed testing is about 10%. ASX.US, Infineon, STM.US, INTC.US, 002185.SZ and 002156.SZ have all set up closed test plants in Malaysia.

Secondly, Malaysia is also an important production base for passive components in Japanese and Taiwan factories. Huaxinke, Wangli, and Guoju have all set up factories in Malaysia.

In the MLCC sector, Guoju Electronics MLCC accounts for 12.2% of the global MLCC market share, while Huaxin Technology accounts for 9.8%, both accounting for more than 20% of the global market share.

In the field of resistors, data in 2020 show that Kaimei's Vangxue resistor ranks third in the world, with a monthly production capacity of about 42 billion.

The suspension of operations by all enterprises in the industrial zone for a period of two weeks has had a positive impact on Wangli, which has about 60% to 70% of its resistance production capacity in Malaysia, which is expected to reduce resistance output by 30% throughout July. It is likely to further lead to tensions in the market out of stock.

ON.US also issued a notice letter on July 6, saying that due to the impact of the epidemic, the Malaysian Ministry of Health issued a decree to close its Seremban plant for 14 days, which is expected to end on July 17.

It is reported that on Semet's factory production line in Seremban supplies 150mm wafers, which are mainly discrete devices.

On Semet's discrete devices generally have a lead time of more than 26 weeks, such as Mosfet, IGBT and other products have been extended to 26-52 weeks, while some logic circuits IC and image sensor chips have even extended to 50 weeks. The on Sammy Damascus plant has been shut down for 14 days, and industry insiders estimate that production capacity will be hit hard and the delay in delivery will be more serious.
