DJ Blue Origin Picks Teenager for First Flight -- Market Talk

10:35 ET - Airlines are dogged by no-show passengers who fail to turn up for their flights, but Blue Origin has turned one to its advantage. After the anonymous winner of an auction who paid $30M to join Jeff Bezos on the first crewed flight of his New Shepard rocket cited "scheduling conflicts," the space firm has found an alternative. Oliver Daemen--who at 18 would be the youngest astronaut--will fly instead with Bezos and his brother, and aerospace legend Wally Funk on the flight planned for July 20.
