Crocs told Wal-Mart this weekFiled a lawsuit with 21 companies, including Hobby Lobby, accusing them of infringing their copyright by selling fake "hole shoes".
In a lawsuit filed in the Federal District Court of Colorado, Carloch alleges that the 21 companies have been selling copies of their classic "hole shoes" at low prices.
Carloch said in the 108-page indictment: "the growth of consumers' online shopping has led to an unprecedented scale of sales of infringing shoes. In 2018, Carloch's defense efforts led to the termination of more than 70, 000 online auctions of infringing products, shutting down more than 1500 websites in the United States alone. "
The indictment said the pirated products violated the "iconic design logo" of Carloch hole shoes, including "3D" shapes and signature holes, and said that "Carloch's goodwill has been and will continue to suffer irreparable damage."
The defective shoes appeared to be on sale on Wal-Mart's website on Thursday for about $10, and Hobby Lobby has removed them from its website.
This is not the first time Wal-Mart has been in trouble selling fake shoes. Kanye West, a famous American singer, sued the company last month after Wal-Mart sold a large number of fake Yeezy Foam Runners products on its website.
