The company has expanded its business to include home solar and large battery storage facilities, although this currently accounts for only a small portion of its total revenue, and recently applied to start selling electricity in Texas.
A user named Julian Lamy posted on LinkedIn.com this week: "I am forming a new team in Tesla, Inc. to focus on energy trading and market operations." Lamy claims to be Tesla, Inc. 's senior optimization software engineer.
According to the job description on Tesla, Inc. 's website, the company plans to use an internal automated trading platform called Autobidder to "bid for batteries to multiple wholesale energy markets".
The position requires expertise in the wholesale electricity market, and candidates will use Autobidder to "lead the trading and real-time operation of battery, solar and wind projects in the wholesale energy market".
