Chinanews.com, Sept. 14-according to the Russian satellite network, Afghan Taliban spokesman Suhair Shahin said on the 13th that the new Afghan government will take all possible legal steps to lift the US freeze on the assets of the Afghan Central Bank. Earlier, US media reported that the United States had frozen $9.5 billion in assets belonging to the Central Bank of Afghanistan.

"I think they should lift the freeze. This is the property of the Afghan people, and we (the country) have a lot of economic problems, so the freeze (these assets) is aimed at the Afghan people. It is necessary for us to do so. The new government will take all possible legal action, "Shaxin told Satellite Network."

Bloomberg previously reported that a U.S. government official confirmed that the United States has frozen nearly $9.5 billion in assets belonging to the Afghan Central Bank after the Taliban took over Afghanistan.
