Mary Daley, chairman of the San Francisco Federal Reserve, said on Sunday that the US job market would continue to be affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, but it was too early to say it was "stagnant".
Asked about the disappointing second consecutive month of job growth, Daley said on CBS weekend News: "the Delta variant has an impact on employment, but not to the point of derailment."
"so I think it's too early to say it's stagnant, but we've definitely seen the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and the impact of the Delta variant on the labor market."
She said that inflation is directly related to the COVID-19 epidemic, but this is not a long-term phenomenon.
