DJ Chinese Stocks Fall; Miners, Electricity Providers Retreat -- Market Talk

0213 GMT - Chinese stocks fall in early trade amid losses among miners and continued weakness in electricity providers. Turnover in the A-share market has decreased, with some selling pressure expected in the near term, China Fortune Securities says. Shaanxi Coal Industry is 4.4% lower, Shanxi Coking Coal falls 4.5%, Huaneng Power International loses 3.5% and GD Power is down 5.1%. Car makers are among gainers, with Great Wall Motor advancing 3.3% after reporting September sales figures, while Guangzhou Automobile climbs 2.9%. The Shanghai Composite Index drops 0.7% to 3567.84, the Shenzhen Composite Index declines 0.8% and the ChiNext Price Index is 0.7% lower.(clarence.leong@wsj.com)
