Chinese Stocks Mixed in Morning Trade -- Market Talk
0152 GMT - Chinese stocks are mixed in morning trade, tracking other Asian equities as investors continue to digest news of U.S. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell's renomination. The Shanghai Composite Index gains 0.1% to 3591.44, the Shenzhen Composite Index is flat at 2519.50 and the ChiNext Price Index declines 0.2% to 3486.27. Shipping stocks are mixed amid supply-chain disruptions globally. China Merchants Port Group adds 0.1%, while Cosco Shipping Development declines 1.0%. Shipping companies may have little incentive or ability to increase capacity, given the likelihood of continuous supply-chain disruptions and a lack of new vessel deliveries, Daiwa Capital says.
