SK Telecom of South Korea said on Tuesday that it will invest $0.2 billion in Smart Global Holdings (SGH), a U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) data center solutions provider. It is SK Telecom's largest investment in the AI field to date. SK Telecom has signed an agreement to acquire 0.2 million preferred shares (approximately 10% of the shares) from SGH, which will be converted into common shares later.
