The company was founded in June 1991 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in September 1993. It is the first large-scale joint stock company listed in Shenzhen in the national power industry and the first public utility corporation listed in Shenzhen. The overall listing was achieved in December 2007, pioneering the overall listing of domestic electric power companies. By the end of June 2023, Shenzhen Energy Group had total assets of 153.64 billion yuan, net assets of 47.537 billion yuan, and total share capital of 4,757,389,916 shares, of which: the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government directly held 43.91% of the shares, Huaneng International Electric Power Co., Ltd. held 25.02% of the shares, and other shareholders held 31.07% of the shares.
