The company was founded in June 1991 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in September 1993. It is the first large-scale joint stock company listed in Shenzhen in the national power industry and the first public utility corporation listed in Shenzhen. The overall listing was achieved in December 2007, pioneering the overall listing of domestic electric power companies.
