The company was established in April 1989 with the approval of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. It is a wholly state-owned limited liability company authorized by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and the management agency of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. The main business is the investment, construction and operation of air ports (including supporting terminals); air passenger and cargo support, comprehensive supporting services and operation; comprehensive land development and airport industry investment and operation by the aviation city government. As of June 2023, the Airport Group had total assets of 58.19 billion yuan and net assets of 40.45 billion yuan. It mainly operates the main aviation business and non-aviation business extended by the main aviation business.
