CAPITAL ESTATE (00193.HK) expects to report a loss in the interim period, reversing from a profit.
According to a March 17 announcement from Gelonghui, CAPITAL ESTATE (00193.HK) expects to report a loss attributable to equity holders of not less than 7 million Hong Kong dollars for the six-month period ending January 31, 2025, compared to a profit of 6.3 million Hong Kong dollars in the same period last year. The swing from profit to loss is mainly due to a fair value loss of more than 6 million Hong Kong dollars in the group's financial investment portfolio (compared to a fair value gain of 2.2 million Hong Kong dollars in the same period last year) and a decrease in share of profits from an associate company from 8.9 million Hong Kong dollars in the same period last year to below 4 million Hong Kong dollars.
