The company, formerly known as Yunnan Lincang Xinyuan Germanium Industry Co., Ltd., was founded in July 1998. In July 1998, with the approval of the “Linxingfu (1998) No. 38” document of the Lincang Regional Administration Office of Yunnan Province, the Lincang Regional Smelter of Yunnan Province (the name was changed to Lincang Feixiang Smelting Co., Ltd. on January 9, 2008) and the Yunnan Nuclear Industry 2009 Geological Brigade jointly funded the establishment of Yunnan Lincang Xinyuan Germanium Industry Co., Ltd. The company's main business is germanium ore mining, pyrotechnic enrichment, wet purification, regional melting refining, deep processing and research and development. The company's current material-grade germanium products are mainly fused germanium ingots and germanium dioxide; in terms of deep processing, photovoltaic-grade germanium products are mainly solar germanium wafers, infrared-grade germanium products are mainly infrared-grade germanium single crystals (optical elements), germanium lenses, lenses, and infrared thermal imagers, fiber-grade germanium products are germanium tetrachloride for optical fibers, and compound semiconductor materials are mainly gallium arsenide wafers and indium phosphide wafers.
