Tomson Group Limited (stock code: 258) was founded in the late 1980s as an investment holding company whose shares are listed on the main board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. The Group's main businesses include property development and investment, hospitality and leisure business, securities trading, plastics business, and operation and investment in the media and entertainment business. Since the Group shifted its investment focus to the Pudong New Area of Shanghai, China in the early 1990s, the Group's main operating base is located in mainland China, particularly in Shanghai. Property development and investment in Shanghai's Pudong New Area is the core business of the Group, and the main focus is on developing high-end residential projects. A high-rise residential development on the banks of the Huangpu River in the Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone - Tomson Yipin is a key project of the Group. Half of the project was marketed for sale while the other half was leased. Furthermore, in 2015, the Group completed the development of a low-rise residential property project in the 38 River area and the adjacent Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club, called Tomson Lake Garden Phase III, and the project was for sale. The Group has also acquired land use rights for a plot of land located in the Jinqiao-Zhangjiang area to develop it in stages into a low-density residential project. Construction of the first phase of the project is underway and is scheduled to be completed in 2017. In addition to Shanghai, in 2010, the Group expanded its property development business to Tianjin and Macau, China. The Group set up a joint venture with a state-owned enterprise located in Tianjin to develop a high-rise real estate development project located on the banks of the Haihe River in the Heping District of the central business district of Tianjin, called Jinwan Plaza Phase II. The project covers residential, office and commercial uses. The residential development project, called “Tomson's Bay One Product”, was intended for sale and construction was completed in the fourth quarter of 2015. The Group is also investing in a low-rise residential property development project located in Macau, China, listed as a World Heritage Site, named “Tomson Bishops Hill No.1”. The project includes four residential buildings, a clubhouse, swimming pool, roof garden and parking space, with a total floor area of about 22,800 square meters. The project is currently being pre-sold and is expected to be delivered to buyers in early 2016. In terms of hospitality and leisure business, the Group operates an 18-hole golf course with international standards in the Huamu District of Pudong, Shanghai - Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club. The Group also holds a 50% interest in the Shanghai Jinjiang Tomson Intercontinental Hotel, a five-star hotel located in Pudong's Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone. Furthermore, the Group has diversified its business portfolio by investing in a number of Hong Kong-listed securities and engaging in the export trade of plastic parts, as well as in media and entertainment business (including film distribution, live shows and entertainer management).
