Morningstar: Tencent's integration of DeepSeek may enhance WeChat's long-term growth potential.

Morningstar Analyst Ivan Su stated that Tencent's messaging application WeChat's integration with DeepSeek is expected to enhance WeChat's long-term growth potential. In a research report, he mentioned that this move indicates Tencent prioritizes functionality and user experience over exclusivity. The analyst noted that while this action may not immediately boost profits, it will strengthen WeChat's role in the daily lives of its 1.3 billion users, fortifying its intangible asset moat, and is expected to achieve long-term MMF growth through increased usage. He pointed out that although there has been a recent rebound, Tencent's stock price is still about 30% discounted from Morningstar's estimate of its fair value.
