C&D Newin Paper & Pulp Projects Profit Turnaround for FY2024
C&D NEWIN (00731.HK) is expected to turn a profit in the fiscal year 2024 after incurring losses.
Gelonghui reported on March 14 that C&D NEWIN (00731.HK) expects to record a profit attributable to owners of the company of approximately 15 million to 20 million Hong Kong dollars in the fiscal year 2024, while the loss attributable to owners of the company for the fiscal year 2023 was approximately 136.3 million Hong Kong dollars. The expected turnaround from loss to profit for fiscal year 2024 is primarily attributed to the combined effects of the following factors: (i) the claims from unreported creditors under the group's debt restructuring have been waived, resulting in a significant one-time gain of approximately 128.2 million Hong Kong dollars; (ii) government tax incentives are expected to increase by approximately 33.7 million Hong Kong dollars in fiscal year 2024.
