Straits Petrochemical Holdings Co., Ltd. is a petroleum products trading company that specializes in trading petroleum and chemical products such as crude oil, refined oil products and petrochemical products. The group is also engaged in the production of petrochemical products. Strong Petrochemical (HK) (Strong Petrochemical (HK)), our operating subsidiary in Hong Kong, China, began operations in 2000. The petroleum and chemical products traded by the Group can be broadly classified as (i) crude oil; (ii) refined oil products; and (iii) petrochemical products. The Group's position is to meet the needs of China's state-owned authorized import agents for petroleum products by supplying various petroleum products. As China's demand for imported petroleum products continued to increase, the Group developed its storage business in 2007 by implementing the Nantong Project and investing in a Tianjin company plan. The Group has long been optimistic about the prospects of manufacturing, processing and sales of petrochemical products, so it invested in the Hainan project in 2012. The Hainan subsidiary began trial operation in 2014. In 2014, the Group began investing in derivatives and securities of crude oil and petroleum products, which helped the Group develop more diversified business.
