With its subsidiaries, joint ventures and joint ventures in China, Brilliance China is one of China's leading automobile manufacturers. In 2009, the Group sold the Chinese brand car business, which recorded a loss. Since January 2010, the Group's operating division has mainly been divided into the manufacture and sale of light buses and automobile parts. Its commercial vehicle brands include the “Jinbei” and “Grace” light buses and the “Huason” luxury utility vehicle. In 2003, the Group established a joint venture with BMW Brilliance BMW Automobile Co., Ltd. (“BMW Brilliance”) to manufacture BMW 3 Series and 5 Series sedans in China. BMW Brilliance also began manufacturing and selling BMW sports utility vehicles (SUVs) in China in early 2012, and launched the first new energy vehicle, the Nuo 1E, in China in November 2013. At the end of 2014, the BMW joint venture launched the first local BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid long sedan in China. The new X3 sports utility vehicle (SAV) is another new model of BMW and is BMW Brilliance's sixth domestic model. It is scheduled to be launched at the end of 2018. In January 2018, Renault SAS (Renault SAS) officially became a shareholder and joint venture partner of Brilliance Renault Jinbei Automobile Co., Ltd. (“Brilliance Renault”, previously known as Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co., Ltd.), the company's main operating subsidiary in mainland China. Currently, the Brilliance Renault Group and Renault hold 51% and 49% respectively. Brilliance Renault plans to manufacture and sell LCV products through the Jinbei, Renault and Huasong brands. Brilliance Renault's primary goal is to try to activate the Jinbei brand and then manufacture Renault LCVs in China by 2020. In April 2015, Brilliance East Asia Auto Finance Co., Ltd. (“Brilliance East Asia Auto Finance”), an auto finance joint venture established by the Company in China with the Bank of East Asia and CaixaBank, S.A., was finally approved to conduct business in China. Brilliance East Asia Auto Finance is a multi-brand service provider. Brilliance East Asia Auto Finance initially focused on supporting the Group's sales of light buses, MPVs, and sedan products for Brilliance, a major shareholder. In December 2016, Brilliance East Asia Auto Finance expanded its business by establishing a white label financial services partnership with Jaguar Land Rover in China. Currently, the Company indirectly holds 31.20% equity interest in Xinchen China Dynamics Holdings Limited (“Xinchen Dynamics”, a company listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited). Xinchen Power develops, produces and sells light gasoline and diesel engines, and its products have been adopted by many domestic and foreign passenger car and light commercial vehicle manufacturers. In 2017, BMW Brilliance sold 386,549 BMW cars, while the Group sold 61,028 light buses and utility vehicles. In 2017, the Group recorded revenue (mainly from the light bus business) of approximately RMB 5,34.7 million, while the BMW joint venture contributed approximately RMB 5.2 billion 377 million to the Group's net profit.
