Weitan International (Holdings) Limited was listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2003. The Group is a leading manufacturer of amino acid products, food additives and starch industrial products using fermenting technology in the Asian region. Weitan International's products are sold to food distributors, international trading companies, and manufacturers of food, paper processing, textile and chemical products in Vietnam, other ASEAN countries, China, Japan, Taiwan and some European countries. Most of the Group's products are sold under the “Weitan” brand. Since the 70s, our MSG products have been sold to Vietnam, China and other ASEAN countries. In order to accelerate market development, the Group established Vietnamese flavor as the main production base in 1991. Since then, the business has continued to develop and the scale of production has continued to expand. Currently, it is the largest MSG manufacturer in Southeast Asia. It is the largest supplier of lysine and starch industrial products in Vietnam. The Xiamen Maotai factory was acquired in 1995 to focus on developing the Chinese market. Furthermore, in 2004, it acquired the assets and monosodium glutamate business of Shanghai Weitan Foods Company as its operation center in China in an effort to fully develop the Chinese market. In November 2005, Weitan Vietnam completed the acquisition of Weitai Tapioca Starch Co., Ltd., which will provide the Group with a stable supply of starch and strengthen the production base of starch products. With our production facilities located in Vietnam and China, the stable supply of upstream raw materials, our advanced fermentation process technology and other advanced biochemical processing technology, as well as the rich experience and knowledge of the management team, the Group enjoys superior competitiveness in the industry we are engaged in.
