The company was founded exclusively by China People's Insurance Group in July 2003, and is the largest property insurance company in mainland China. The Company was successfully listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on November 6, 2003, becoming the first financial enterprise in mainland China to be listed overseas. Currently, the total share capital of the Company is 22,242,765,303 shares, of which China People's Insurance Group holds 68.98% of the shares and H share shareholders hold 31.02% of the shares.
