's third-quarter operating profit rose 28% from a year earlier to 15.8 trillion won ($13.2 billion), helped by higher chip prices and strong demand for foldable smartphones, according to preliminary unaudited results released Friday.
Revenue of Won73,000bn was also in line with expectations. Samsung will provide net profit and division breakdown figures when it releases its official results on October 28.
