China Coalbed Methane Group Co., Ltd. and its subsidiaries (collectively, the “Group”) currently operate liquefied coalbed methane production and sales business in China. The Company was incorporated as an Exempted Limited Company in the Cayman Islands in July 2002 and continues to be an Exempted Limited Company in Bermuda under the Bermuda Companies Act 1981 (as amended). The Company's shares were first listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited GEM (“GEM”) on August 12, 2003. The Group is currently mainly engaged in natural gas extraction, liquefaction production and sales business in China. The Group is headquartered in Beijing. The Group's liquefied coalbed methane production is located in the Qinshui Basin in Shanxi, which has the richest liquefied coal bed methane sources, and its sales business covers places such as Shanxi. In order to obtain a more stable supply of natural gas to improve the utilization rate of our liquefied natural gas (“liquefied natural gas”) plant, since July 2011, the Group has invested heavily in resource exploration and extraction in the coalbed methane field in Yangcheng, Shanxi, and has been able to supply gas to the liquefied natural gas plant. Commercial production of coalbed methane has made the Group a vertically integrated natural gas company and continues to strengthen our leading position in the unconventional natural gas market in China.
