Chinese NEV (New Energy Vehicle) makers are increasingly making inroads into the Australian market but have not yet fully "controlled" it. Major Chinese brands like BYD, MG (under SAIC), GWM, and soon-to-arrive companies like Xpeng and Leapmotor are aggressively competing with Tesla and other global automakers in Australia. BYD, for example, has introduced affordable and diverse models like the Atto 3 and Seal, and even outsold Tesla in certain months.
