Automatically generate a '3D analytical model' from BIM data.
Shimizu Corporation (President: Tatsuya Niimura) has recently developed a “BIM-FEM Integration System” that automatically generates highly accurate three-dimensional FEM analysis models from building BIM data. This system automatically analyzes component geometry, material properties, and reinforcement details embedded in BIM data to generate a whole-building structural simulation model capable of precisely predicting seismic damage to structures. The system reduces the time required to create an analysis model—from over one month previously—to approximately three days.
