The company was approved by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government in 1993 to be restructured on the basis of Baotou No. 2 Thermal Power Plant, and was established by Inner Mongolia Electric Power (Group) Co., Ltd. and China Huaneng Group Corporation as sponsors through social fundraising. In March 1994, 50 million RMB common stock (A shares) were publicly offered to the public. The shares were listed and traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on May 20 of the same year, and the company became the first listed company in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The company mainly engages in power generation and heating business, mainly thermal power generation business, and new energy power generation business, mainly wind power and solar power generation, and also deals in coal production and sales. The company's business scope includes production, supply, sales, maintenance and management of thermal power generation, heating, steam and hot water; wind power generation and other new energy power generation and supply; investment in coal, railway and supporting infrastructure projects; investment in coal chemical and coal deep processing industries; investment in limestone and raw materials related to electricity production; and management and consulting services related to the above business content.
