The company was founded in April 1996 and is headquartered on the east side of Dongfanghong Square in central Lanzhou. It is a large-scale private enterprise with department store retail as its main business, supported by supermarkets and electronics retail. After years of cultivation, the company has formed three commercial retail brands: “Guofang Department Store”, “Guofang General Supermarket”, and “Guofang Electric”. Since its establishment, the company has achieved a transformation from a single-store operation to a chain operation based on a steady expansion strategy. It is based in Lanzhou while radiating to Qinghai, Ningxia and other provinces and cities. It is the first department store in the northwest to achieve a “Gan, Qing, and Ning” chain. The company is engaged in chain retail business, mainly in the department store business, supplemented by supermarkets and electrical appliances. Corporate honors: 2017 Governor's Finance Award, Gansu Commercial Service AAA Credit Enterprise, China Honest Management Enterprise, etc. In 2023, Lanzhou Guofang was awarded the city's advanced fire safety production unit, and Xining Guofang was awarded the honorary title of “Safe Shopping Supermarket” in the district.
