The company is abbreviated as “Air China”, the English name is “AirChinaLimited”, or “AirChina” for short. Its predecessor, Air China, was founded in 1988. According to the “Civil Aviation System Reform Plan” approved by the State Council, in October 2002, Air China, together with China Airlines Corporation and China Southwest Airlines, established China Airlines Group Corporation and formed a new China International Airlines based on the air transport resources of the three parties. On September 30, 2004, with the approval of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Committee of the State Council, Air China Co., Ltd. was formally established in Beijing as the main air transport company controlled by China Airlines Group. On December 15, 2004, Air China Co., Ltd. was successfully listed in Hong Kong (stock code 0753) and London (trading code AIRC).
