Mizuho: If Governor Ueda ignores the recent weakness of the yen in his speech, more yen selling may emerge.

Mizuho Securities analysts Masafumi Yamamoto and Masayoshi Mihara reported that if Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda maintains a dovish stance in today's speech and ignores the recent depreciation of the yen, investors may become more confident in selling the yen. If Ueda only focuses on the impact of the yen on the annual inflation rate, the view that the monetary policy stance of the Bank of Japan is unaffected by exchange rates may be further strengthened. Recently, the tone of the Japanese Ministry of Finance's verbal intervention indicates that there is no urgent need for actual intervention. Note: Ueda is expected to speak this afternoon.
