The settlement price of the Chicago Nikkei 225 futures was 40 yen higher than the Osaka day-to-night comparison at 41,210 yen. The US stock market is rising. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 247.15 dollars at 40.
Sell-off of stocks related to semiconductors is increasing for profit-taking.
The Nikkei average fell significantly for the first time in four days, closing at 41,190.68 yen, down by 1,033.34 yen with an estimated volume of 1.8 billion 30 million shares traded. Following the trend of profit-taking selling led by high-tech stocks in the US market, amid increasing expectations for early rate cuts, stocks with a large contribution to the index such as semiconductor related stocks were sold in the Tokyo market.
