JAL will cooperate with Iwatani Giken in the commercialization of the space tourism experience it aims for.
JAL will begin collaboration with Iwatani Giken Co., Ltd. (located in Ebetsu, Hokkaido, Representative Director: Keisuke Iwatani, hereinafter referred to as 'Iwatani Giken') aiming for the commercialization of space tourism experiences. Both companies signed a basic agreement on December 10, 2024. This collaboration involves JAL participating in the Japan-origin co-creation project "OPEN UNIVERSE PROJECT" aimed at the commercialization and popularization of space tourism using balloons, hosted by Iwatani Giken, in business and technology development.
