During the regular inspection on May 27, 2024, Genkai Nuclear Power Plant Unit 4 (pressurized water light water reactor, rated electrical output of 1.18 million kilowatts) experienced an incident where one of the two electric auxiliary feedwater pumps failed to operate during the functional test of the emergency power supply. (Already announced on May 27, 2024) In addition, the operation verification of the high-capacity air-cooled generator, which is a major accident response facility for Unit 4, was conducted on June 24, 2024, exceeding the deadline specified in the safety regulations by 4 days.
