Indonesian minister: Although an investment agreement has been reached, Apple is still prohibited from selling the iPhone 16 in the country.
The Indonesian Minister of Industry stated on Wednesday that despite an agreement between Apple and Indonesia to establish production facilities locally, the iPhone 16 cannot be sold in Indonesia because the company has not met the regulations regarding domestic content. Last year, Indonesia banned the sale of the iPhone 16 because Apple failed to meet the requirement that smartphones sold domestically must contain at least 35% locally manufactured components.
