LCMorZero OP : I received a message from my broker informing me that Jan 10th options will be based on Jan 8th because the market is close on Jan 9th. That’s why I am confused

Ken Griffin Charity : I cannot believe it either, but only because that is nonsense. Toys R Us went bankrupt because of competition from larger retailers who could afford to undercut them; retailers like Walmart and Target.
Short sellers don’t “kill” companies. That’s not how any of this works.

Space Dust : the undercutting ability via buying power of Walmart. The toy industry was the main driver of viability by Walmart which enable the behemoth to emerge. Had there not been the toy industry to cannibalize, Walmart would not have had that eclipsing speed. Those toy deals were pivotal in the whole operation.
How?  What kid wants to go to the grocery store? or department store? They put the toy store inside where every kid takes control
