Here is the analysis of Amazon earnings:
Positive
1) Total revenue for the tech and online retail giant to rise about 11% YoY to $148.68 billion from $134.38 billion in Q2 last year.
2) Net income is projected to jump 65% YoY to $11.13 billion from $6.75 billion in Q2 last year.
3) Expected earning per share (EPS) is $1.04 up from last quarter 98¢ and 65¢ YoY.
4) Bank of America analysts believe growth in AWS demand could power its revenue above estimates, as Amazon has expanded the range of products available through its Bedrock platform.
Negative
1) Amazon stock rose 1.5% on Friday, leaving it up about 20% for the year so far. This also implies that the stock may be overbought and profit taking is possible if any data falls below expectation.
2) If Fed doesn't signal a rate cut in September during the meeting today, it may trigger a mega cap stocks sell-off including Amazon.
My bet is the stock may rise after earnings.

Wonder : Amazon is a giant business engaging in 4 core areas:
1. Retail - its ecommerce segment has shown prowess in producing double digits growth in domestic sales for years.
2. Cloud computing - its AWS occupies the top spot with a sizable market share of > 30%. It is also investing in AI technology to innovate, build and strengthen the infrastructure to fend off competition.
3. Advertising and streaming - it has built a strong hold on its Prime Video streaming service with its tiered membership which are proven to have more efficient monetisation.
4. Logistic - its end to end extensive distribution network has allowed it to deliver its products to customers all over the world in a timely manner, contributing significantly to the company's success.
Amazon exhibits a strong brand recognition and value in the world stage of business. It survived the dot.com bubble crash is testamont to its ability to adapt and evolve in this fast changing business enviroment.
Analysts consensus is a strong buy on the back of strong AWS growth, growing revenue streams from the rollout of ads on Prime Video and the impressive sales performance of Prime Day.
