According to sources, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. sent a new potential acquisition quote to Seven & i Holdings Co. last month, offering $18.19 per share, valuing the Japanese retailer at 7 trillion yen ($47.2 billion), representing a premium of about 20% over the previous quote and the company's current stock price. A source who requested anonymity due to the undisclosed information stated that this bid, intended to initiate negotiations, was sent to Seven & i on September 19. The source added that no further actions were taken thereafter.
