Jeju Aviation announced a reduction of over 1,900 flights in the first quarter to ensure flight safety.
South Korea's largest low-cost airline, Jeju Air, announced on Wednesday that it will cut nearly 1,880 flights in the first quarter to enhance operational safety. This follows a fatal crash involving one of its Boeing 737-800 aircraft that resulted in 179 deaths. In a press release, Jeju Air stated that it plans to reduce 1,878 flights during the winter season ending in March, including 838 domestic flights and 1,040 international flights. A spokesperson for Jeju Air mentioned that the company also plans to cut an additional 30 flights in the near future, bringing the total number of flights cut in the first quarter to over 1,900.
