then adjusted down 120 to 77 recently ..

Basically China's google...
Search engines have a place in the modern world although it's (Baidu) market share is eroded by the following:-
1) Xiao Hong Shu (XHS) - basically a social media with search engine
2) A maps in China - search engine with map (unlike google baidu didn't create their own search engine)
3) Potentially game changing would be GenAI - although it is noted that Baidu has its own AI. But we won't know who the leading GenAI would be or the future form. My expectation would be that GenAI would be largely integrated into platforms in the future in seemless way, not visible to the end-user.

C L7 OP Duskerdawn : Yea agree with ur analysis. baidu search is also losing out to bing. Was in china for 2 weeks and baidu search is downright horrendous! But i do take baidu at face value, some of their other bets are able to pay off in long run at current valuation
