The US and other Western nations will do well to tariff Chinese EV imports only to the point these don’t undercut the prices of homegrown EVs. Why? Because Chinese EVs are clearly way ahead in the game and have something to offer consumers besides price. There will be strong demand for Chinese EVs as seen with $NIO popularity in Norway, Germany, Sweden, etc. Governments won’t tax Chinese EVs too high as it will kill off demand. China is going big on Clean Energy too. Just need time to fulfill the huge demand for electricity. Of course cannot phase out the coal power generation plant at one time. Slowly they will reduce the coal power plants.
