$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ To succeed at a grand scale, you must compete in the biggest markets with bold strategies that set you apart from your rivals. People who follow this path take huge risks that sometimes don't pan out. Just look at Elon Musk. Musk's business success is undeniable, if his USD424 billion net worth is anything to go by. But that success has come with more than a few mistakes - like paying USD44 billion for Twitter in Oct 2022. That i...

The points raised in this article are both empirically true, and portray a reasonably accurate picture of Tesla. However, Tesla as a company, its CEO, and its operating metrics, are beginning to fail insofar as their ambitions as a car manufacturer. I made my first really great returns in Tesla. but that was in 2020. Oh my how things have changed…For one thing, its world class manufacturing facilities dont mean squat when its CEO is spending 95% of his fime sleeping next door to Donald Trump, and NOT on the floor of one of its factories. Additionally for no other reason than the above, his wealth has doubled since he cozied up to Trump during the elections, while Tesla is doing NOTHING to improve its position in a fast evolving market. They havent even seriously changed or updated the look and feesl of ANY of its models since their inception with slight exceptions to X & Y. In 60 years, I have NEVER seen a car company fail to to regularly update and improve its models every other year or so. Elon’s perceived involvement and time spent at Tesla is thin at best. Robotics are great,….. when they’re ready for deployment in the commercial market. The old trick of saying “ we expect to be shipping “the Roadster” by the end of 2022” is long since become, another pie in the sky proclamation by Musk. Most importantly, The Elon Musk of today, resembles little the Elon of old. He was always an environmentally responsible advocate who seemed to “walk the walk”. I was his biggest fan from almost 15 years ago. Today however, he reminds me more of Snidely Whiplash from Rocky and Bullsinkle. Hiding behind every rock or tree having to do with manipulating a government he knows Nothing about outside his own industrial regulations. Its extraordinarily involved and complex. promiising $2B in cuts is so far off the mark of reality, he looks like a fool for even mentioning it, not to mention his sidekick. all I know, is when it comes to the things I choose to invest in, a government meddling 1/2 a trillionair that is literally “ NOT present” at the company in question, that company’s investability approaches dangerous or worse. Not for me!!! Byddy however, is advancing not only its worldwide market share, but is rapidly advancing the quality of their cars enough to be fit to drive on American roads. And while right on top of battery technology, they have clearly prioritized style and model design to appeal to people’s everchanging preferences and taste. We can try to keep Chinese cars off of American roads ……. Aint gonna end up that way. As protectively patriotic as I am aroud U.S. industry. the U.S. car market has priced itself out of the market, with Ford pickups costing anywhere fro $60,000 to $128,000. One word sums that problem up,…. “ unsustainable “ The only lineup of cars that fits the majority of Americas automotive budget are the Chinese, Korean, and to an extent Japanese, But when Tesla’s stock comes under fire for the fundamentals that Musk brought down upon it on his own. Ill be nowhere to be found in that crowd. Because if he can, he isnt moving 1” further away from D.C. than he is forced t, as his fundamental priorities have completely shifted to political oligarchy over being one of the world’s greatest engineering minds in history. unfortunately this oil and water mix of iideals doesnt mix at all whatsoever. So inccluding everything you said above,…..I find everything Ive tried to communicate here, just as, if not more important than the more “palatable” shortcomings of Tesla.

Many have not seen or ride on Chinese EV. Safety is there, design is good, battery technology is mature, and it offers way more than those in the same price point. It's crazy, and we can't deny these Chinese companies are taking over the world.

In Europe there is an preference for Tesla. But expensive for simple citizen. With new car under 30K can make a great difference. But European gouvernement shall put taxes on BYD, except if they are prouced in Europe. And they shall take over production lines from European carmakers because these are in difficulties now. Many factories are closing?

if it's anything to go by, i think most in Singapore can vouch for seeing more BYD cars on the roads (more mass-market appeal) as compared to Tesla (more atas = higher price point).. it's a bit like having more Toyota cars on the roads versus Mercedes Benz in the not so long ago.. i wonder what the "ground situation" is like in China..
