$XIAOMI-W (01810.HK)$answer. Germany. Why? Because it's the only country in the world where there is NO speed limit on the Autobahn. A top-up placement typically results in a short-term negative reaction in the stock price due to dilution and the discount at which shares are offered. Here’s what to expect for Xiaomi’s share price: Short-Term Impact (Negative) 1. Dilution Effect – Xiaomi is issuing 750 million new shares, increasing the total share count and slightly diluting existing shareholders' stakes. 2. Discounted Pricing – The shares are being offered at HK$52.80 to HK$54.60, which is a 4.2-7.4% discount from Monday’s closing price of HK$57. This may cause selling pressure as arbitrage traders and investors adjust their positions. 3. Market Reaction – Investors often react negatively to placements, especially if they weren’t expected. The stock could drop toward the placement price range as short-term traders exit. Medium-to-Long-Term Impact (Potentially Positive) 1. Capital for Growth – Xiaomi is raising $5.27 billion, which could help fund its EV expansion, R&D, and other strategic investments. If used wisely, this could drive long-term growth. 2. Institutional Demand – Placements are usually taken up by institutional investors, signaling confidence in Xiaomi’s future. If strong investors buy in, it could support the stock after the initial drop. What to Watch Next If the stock falls toward HK$52.80-HK$54.60, it might stabilize there. If institutional demand is high, it could recover faster. If Xiaomi clarifies how it will use the funds, sentiment could improve.

This is to raise cash for their EV expansion into a European markets. It's all in a good cause. Might cause a slight dip but no big deal. It's a Bullish move

I calculated it to be 3% dilution of Xiaomi's float. Not a great deal and it's all to hasten the expansion of the EV business and let's not forget the Xiaomi 3Nm chip that will be coming this year. That's a huge leap for Xiaomi
