The largest acquisition in Google's history is nearing completion! Media reports indicate a $30 billion acquisition of the cybersecurity startup Wiz.
According to insiders who spoke to the media, Google's parent company, Alphabet, plans to acquire the cybersecurity startup Wiz for about 30 billion dollars and is currently in deep negotiations. The Wall Street Journal cited insiders as saying this would be the largest trade in Google's history and could be finalized soon unless unexpected obstacles arise at the last moment, similar to what caused previous deals to fall through. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that Alphabet came close to acquiring Wiz for about 23 billion dollars last summer. However, the negotiations ultimately broke down, partly due to concerns from Wiz and some of its investors that the deal would take a long time to finalize.
