Uber will collaborate on future BYD autonomous-capable vehicles to be deployed on the Uber platform. This shows that BYD is taking robotaxis seriously. They have about 4000 engineers and are also spending billions of dollars on R&D for smart driving.
The fact that Uber chose BYD instead of Tesla in this area speaks volumes. Uber is more confident of BYD in robotaxis than Tesla.
