• 27182818 : Trump can't legalize cannabis.  Only congress can. Trump can try to corral congress but he might as well herd cats. At best he can sign the bill.
  Alternatively SCOTUS could (and probably should) throw out most federal drug laws on constitutional grounds and leave them to the states. We know that won't happen.
  Most likely the feds will do nothing, more and more individual states will legalize it, and the federal laws will be ignored. Unless you piss off the wrong person.

• rennymc 27182818 : I said this in another post. Everyone thinks trump is going to make their lives better. He doesn’t have the sole power to pass whatever he wants. The bill must coincide with a republican majority congress and republican majority SCOTUS (even though trump’s SCOTUS majority is supposed to remain impartial to party lines). This is the SCOTUS that threw us back 50 years by overturning Roe v. Wade. They want to tighten the laws on anything and everything that people would enjoy and/or benefit from.
  Also, Walmart and other retailers, car manufacturers, etc. have already announced that they will increase prices for the consumer for the tariffs on imported goods. If people think prices are high now they’ll long for the current economy that Biden cleaned up from trumps first disaster in office and his horrible handling of the epidemic.

• JOHNWAYNE rennymc : your right he doesn't have the sole power but now that the Republicans controol the white house, the sennet,  and the house so now the democrats can not block all of the bills like legislation of cannabis due to the fact that they don't controol the majority any more and that being said the current SEC director stepping down and his last day is January 20th at 1201 am so there as alot of good that could come from all of these change of events
