Economists: Canada's strong sales momentum continues, with steady GDP growth expected in October.
Economist Derek Holt from the bank of nova scotia noted that Canada is approaching its strongest consecutive quarterly retail growth in a decade. Holt stated that Canada's sales performance in September was strong, and the momentum continued into October. Holt believes there is a significant amount of suppressed savings and cash balances within Canadian households, along with a huge demand for housing and related items. Holt anticipates that Canada's GDP will grow by 0.1% month-on-month in October and believes that the GDP in October might show robust growth as a good start to the fourth quarter.
